CDTP Scheme

              Community Development Through Polytechnics(CDTP):-

  • CDTP Scheme is running in 06 Govt. Polytechnics namely Sundernagar, Hamirpur, Rohru, (W)Kandaghat, Kangra &Ambota since the academic session 2009-10.
  •  It is 100% Central Sponsored Scheme and the grant is being received from the Govt. on installment basis. This is a Direct Central Assistance scheme under which Recurring and Non-Recurring Grant is being provided by MHRD to the selected institutions/Polytechnics for implementation of the scheme.
  • This scheme is especially for the advancement of the local community who are living in backward areas and unable to get the professional and technical education.
  • These Polytechnics provide skill training in various Engineering and Non-Engineering courses i.e. Plumbing & Sanitation, Domestic Electrician, Computer Soft Application, Embroidery, Cutting & Tailoring, Domestic Electrician, Wood Work/Carpentry, Electrician, House Wiring etc. with the duration of 03 to 06 months through main & extension centers as per need of the local community. No Course Fee/Caution Money/Securities is charged from the trainees/ beneficiaries under any circumstances. The services under the scheme are provided to the needy people, free of cost.
  • Under the CDTP Scheme 18,285 persons have been trained till date.
